1926 Coffee Co. and the hospitality plans for the Laura Street Trio

Becovic Hospitality puts food, drink and lodging into the ground floors of Becovic’s Jacksonville towers, for the residents upstairs and people on the street. It starts with 1926 Coffee Co. at The Residences at Barnett, and moves into the Laura Street Trio once Becovic Development has a restoration plan.

1926 Coffee Co. at The Barnett

1926 Coffee Co. is going into 646 square feet on the ground floor of The Residences at Barnett, and the City of Jacksonville issued the build-out permit in July 2026. Becovic named the café for the block: The Carling opened as the Roosevelt Hotel in 1926, and 11 East opened as the Lynch Building the same year.

The café will serve coffee and signature drinks to the residents upstairs, the office tenants below them and people walking down Laura Street.

A hotel in the Laura Street Trio

Becovic plans a hotel in the Laura Street Trio, alongside restaurants and apartments. Guests would stay a short walk from The Barnett, The Carling and 11 East.

Becovic bought the buildings in August 2026, and the design is in planning. Becovic will publish the details once the design is set.

Becovic runs the ground floor itself.

Becovic sets the café’s hours around the residents upstairs and holds the service to its own standard. It doesn’t need to find a retail tenant for the space.

Becovic has owned and operated its apartments the same way since 1973.
